Cases of robbery against elderly increased by 35% in Delhi, 14 elderly murdered this year

Delhi Crime: The crime cases in Delhi have now moved towards looting of elderly people. According to Delhi Police data, such crimes have increased by 35 percent in the last one year.

According to a Times of India report, in August this year, three bike-riding men attacked 74-year-old Mohan Lal Chhabra, who was going for physiotherapy in Sagarpur. They stabbed him repeatedly and ran away with his jewelery and cash. When he fell, he was already dead. Chhabra was one of the 14 people who were murdered by miscreants with the intention of robbery.

85 cases of robbery registered against elderly people
If we talk about this year, more than 85 cases of robbery against elderly people were registered. Last year, only 63 cases were registered from January to September, but this year this figure has increased to 85. Which is 35 percent more than last year. In these cases, cases like murder, attempt to murder, robbery, theft, cyber crime and sexual harassment of the elderly have been highlighted.

‘Such incidents happening with the elderly are a matter of grave concern’
The increasing number of such criminal incidents against old people is being considered a cause for serious concern. It seems that the elderly are the most vulnerable in Delhi, there is concern about this even among the working class people because these crimes are happening especially to those who are disabled.
