CBI action in bribery case
CBI has arrested the General Manager of NHAI in bribery case. It is being told that CBI has taken this action in a bribery case of Rs 20 lakh. Along with this, CBI has also seized Rs 45 lakh in this search operation. Officials said that this General Manager Arvind Kale was also the manager of the project. He had allegedly taken bribe from a private company.
Rs 45 lakh seized from the house
In fact, the Journal Manager of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has been arrested in an alleged bribery case of Rs 20 lakh in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Officials further said that after the arrest, CBI has seized Rs 45 lakh in a search operation including a bribe of Rs 20 lakh. According to officials, a case has been registered against General Manager Arvind Kale and 11 others. At present further action is being taken in the matter.
Private companies also on CBI radar
Officials said on Sunday that Arvind Kale, who was also holding the responsibility of project director, had allegedly taken bribe from a private company. He said the CBI had seized Rs 45 lakh, including a bribe of Rs 20 lakh, in a search operation after Kale’s arrest. “The total amount of bribe and first installment demanded by the accused officer was Rs 45 lakh. Private individuals and companies are also involved in the bribery case and they are also part of the CBI investigation,” the agency said.
CBI raids at five locations
Information has been received that CBI has conducted searches at the premises and residences of the accused person at five places in Bhopal and Nagpur. The agency said that during the search, documents related to salary hike have also been seized and digital evidence is also being seized.
