Cold wave continues in many states of the country including Delhi-Haryana-Punjab. The Meteorological Department has issued a cold day alert for Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh for the next 24 hours. Severe cold will also continue in most places of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of cold day on 25 and 26 January. Along with this, there is no respite from fog in North India for the next five days.

The Meteorological Department said on Wednesday that today the minimum temperature remained between 3-6 degrees Celsius in most parts of Punjab, northern Haryana and isolated parts of north-western Uttar Pradesh. While Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Bihar recorded minimum temperatures of 7-10°C. The lowest minimum temperature of 3.4°C was recorded in Ambala (Haryana) on Wednesday.

The Meteorological Department said that dense fog will be seen in Haryana-Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura for the next two days.
