New Delhi: Constitution Day is being celebrated across the country today. Let us tell you that this Constitution Day is celebrated on 26 November. In fact, on 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India formally adopted the Constitution of India. We celebrate this day every year as Constitution Day. We celebrate this day to promote a sense of respect among the citizens towards constitutional values. Constitution Day started in the year 2015 in the 125th birth anniversary of the creator of the Constitution, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. On 26 November 2015, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment had notified the Centre’s decision to celebrate it as Constitution Day.
Took help from the constitutions of these countries
It took a total of 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to create the Constitution of India. In this way, our Constitution was completed on 26 November 1949. The Constitution of our country is the largest written constitution in the whole world. While making the Constitution, the rules of many countries were included, so that the best improvements could be brought in the lives of the common people. For this, help was taken from the constitutions of countries like America, Ireland, Canada, Japan, Australia and United Kingdom. From the constitutions of these countries, we selected important topics like duties of citizens, fundamental rights, role of government, Prime Minister, President, Governor and election process.
What did the Constitution give?
26th November is a day of pride for every Indian. This is the day when such a book was prepared in India which gave every Indian the right to equality, every Indian the right to live freely, every Indian the right to take his own decisions. Hard work had to be done day and night to make this Constitution, so that no person’s rights were left out. Many types of arguments were made on this. Every aspect of it was considered for almost three years. Making the Constitution of India was not such an easy task. Because India is a country of diversity. In such a situation, it was a very difficult task to bring together people of all religions, sects, castes and different ideas.
