Corona speed increased in the country, 752 new cases reported in last 24 hours

New Delhi: Corona virus has started scaring once again. The number of corona infected patients is continuously increasing in the country. In the last 24 hours, 752 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in India and the number of patients under treatment has increased to 3,420. This is the highest number of cases of coronavirus infection reported in a single day in the country since May 21, 2023.

According to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare till 8 am on Saturday, the total number of Covid-19 cases reported so far in the country is 4.50 crore (4,50,07,964). Due to the death of four people due to infection in the last 24 hours in the country, the death toll due to this epidemic has increased to 5,33,332. According to the ministry’s data, in the last 24 hours, two patients have died in Kerala and one patient each in Rajasthan and Karnataka due to Covid-19.

220.67 crore people have been vaccinated

According to the Health Ministry website, the number of people recovering from this disease has increased to 4,44,71,212. The national recovery rate is 98.81 percent, while the death rate is 1.19 percent. According to the ministry, so far 220.67 crore vaccines have been administered in the country under the anti-Covid-19 vaccination campaign.

World Health Organization issued warning

The World Health Organization has reported that the number of new Covid cases has increased by 52 percent over the past four weeks, with more than 850,000 new cases reported during the period. The WHO reported that the number of new deaths declined by 8 percent compared to the previous 28-day period, with more than 3,000 new deaths recorded.

More than seven million people have died so far

WHO said that as of 17 December 2023, more than 772 million confirmed cases and nearly seven million deaths have been recorded globally since the onset of COVID-19. Additionally, WHO said there have been more than 118,000 new Covid-19 hospitalizations and more than 1,600 patients admitted to ICU, an overall increase of 23 per cent and 51 per cent respectively globally.
