Countdown for the launch of INSAT 3DS begins, know what is special about ISRO’s satellite – India TV Hindi

The countdown for the launch of INSAT-3DS has started.

Bengaluru: The countdown for the launch of India’s most advanced weather satellite INSAT-3DS has started and it will be launched at 5:35 pm on 17 February 2024. Describing the features of the satellite, ISRO had said that this satellite will help in providing better weather forecast and disaster related warnings. This weather satellite will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center located in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Let us tell you that this satellite will be launched through GSLV F-14. Let us tell you that a 51.7 meter long GSLV rocket weighing 420 tonnes will place INSAT 3DS in geosynchronous transfer orbit.

What are the features of INSAT 3DS?

The orbit of INSAT 3DS will be changed to geostationary orbit later in a phased manner. Let us tell you that earlier ISRO had said that the rocket would take off at 5.30 pm but later the time was changed to 5.35 pm. INSAT 3DS is India’s third generation meteorological satellite and is fully funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences. It is designed for advanced meteorological observations and monitoring of land and ocean surfaces for weather forecasting and disaster warning. With the help of this satellite it will be possible to make more accurate weather predictions.

Many departments will get help

INSAT-3DS will also enhance meteorological services along with the currently operational INSAT-3D and INSAT-3DR satellites. Let us tell you that various departments under the Ministry of Earth Sciences like India Meteorological Department, National Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasting, Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, National Institute of Ocean Technology, Indian National Ocean Information Services Center and various other agencies and institutions are involved in better weather forecasting. And will use INSAT-3DS satellite data to provide meteorological services. Let us tell you that in the last few years, ISRO has proved its capabilities to the whole world.
