New Delhi: BJP on Wednesday once again raised the issue of controversial statements made by DMK leaders against Sanatan Dharma. The party appointed DMK MP D.N. After expressing regret on behalf of V. Senthilkumar for referring to Hindi speaking states in a derogatory manner in the Lok Sabha, he asked whether Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had also asked the party leaders who spoke against Sanatan Dharma to apologize. Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar also criticized the ‘silence’ of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra over their ‘repeated objectionable remarks about Sanatan’ at a press conference at the BJP headquarters.

‘Did Stalin ask Udhayanidhi to apologise?’

Rajeev Chandrashekhar said, ‘I told T.R. Balu was heard saying that CM Stalin has asked MP Senthilkumar not to make such statements. But there is a question which should be asked to Balu and Stalin. What happened to Udhayanidhi Stalin’s statement? Has he advised Udhayanidhi to apologise? A. What about the king? Did he A. Have you advised the king to apologize? Why can’t Udhayanidhi Stalin apologise?’ The Union Minister alleged that the parties of the opposition alliance ‘INDIA’ have started ‘a new chapter of divisive politics’ with statements of North-South divide as their efforts to create a rift on religious lines for votes were recently concluded. Did not work in assembly elections.

‘INDIA alliance will be clear from South India also’

Chandrashekhar said the BJP will ‘strongly oppose’ such politics being practiced by the Congress and other members of the ‘India’ alliance. He said, ‘The people of the country will also completely oppose such politics and expose them.’ Senthilkumar on Tuesday, while targeting the ruling BJP, had used the derogatory term to describe Hindi speaking states. After this comment, there was an uproar in the Lok Sabha and the proceedings were adjourned. Later, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla removed his comments from the proceedings of the House. BJP leaders had termed his remarks as ‘hate speech’ and said that voters would ‘wipe out’ the ‘INDIA’ alliance from South India as well in the next elections.

Udhayanidhi Stalin had given a controversial statement against Sanatan Dharma.

‘There was no intention to use that word’

The DMK MP, who was facing criticism, later apologized. He wrote on X, ‘While commenting on the results of the recent assembly elections held in 5 states, I had used a word inappropriately. There was no intention in using that word and I apologize for sending the wrong message. On Wednesday he expressed regret in the Lok Sabha but the BJP intensified its attack on the ‘INDIA’ alliance. Chandrashekhar said, ‘After the results of three states, a new chapter of divisive politics has been started by Congress and ‘Indi Alliance’. First they do divisive politics on the basis of religion.

‘BJP has MPs and MLAs in South India too’

The Union Minister said that Congress ally Udhayanidhi Stalin says that Sanatan is dengue and malaria. He said, ‘Then the architect and visionary of DMK’s 2G scam, A. Raja says that Sanatan Dharma is equal to leprosy and HIV. The controversy that arose over the comments of some DMK leaders against Sanatan Dharma during the elections was used by BJP to target Congress. Chandrashekhar said, ‘After all this failed, yesterday they started the strategy of North-South division. The new close ones of Rahul Gandhi started North and South (Partition) and BJP-free South (Katha). And there is such foolishness when there are BJP MLAs and MPs in the South.
