Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani will attend the Pran Pratishtha ceremony to be held in Ayodhya on January 22. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) chief Alok Kumar gave this information on Thursday. Let us tell you that Lal Krishna Advani is one of the few leaders who has played a leading role in the Ram Mandir movement. But, it is not yet clear whether senior party leader Murli Manohar Joshi will attend this historic function or not.

What did VHP chief say on Murli Manohar Joshi?

The VHP chief said, “Advani ji has said that he will come. If needed, we will make special arrangements for him.” Regarding Joshi, Alok Kumar said, ”He has also said that he will try to come to attend this program.” It is notable that 96-year-old Lal Krishna Advani is a founding member of the BJP and along with Murli Manohar Joshi he played a leading role in the Ram Mandir movement in the early 1990s. Joshi is also a founding member of BJP.

There was talk of not attending last month

Let us tell you that the Ram Mandir Trust had said last month that Advani and Joshi, who were the leaders of the Ram Mandir movement in Ayodhya, are not likely to attend the Pran Pratishtha ceremony to be held next month due to their health and age related reasons. Presenting the detailed list of invitees during a press conference in Ayodhya, Ram Mandir Trust general secretary Champat Rai had said Advani and Joshi were unlikely to attend the consecration ceremony due to health and age-related reasons. After controversy arose over Rai’s statement, Alok Kumar had said that he has invited senior BJP leaders LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi to attend the consecration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya next month.

What did you say when Congress rejected the invitation?

VHP chief Alok Kumar had said in a statement that both Advani and Joshi have said they will make “every possible effort” to attend the event on January 22. Asked about top Congress leaders rejecting the invitation to the Pran Pratishtha programme, Kumar said, “It is their wish.” Everyone has been invited. Just as we invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we also invited opposition leaders. We invited BJP president JP Nadda, so we invited presidents of all other parties. We believe that this occasion is a festival for all Hindus.” The VHP leader said, ”Those who want to attend the Pran Pratishtha ceremony can come. Those who do not want to participate in this program, it is their wish.
