Congress’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ has entered West Bengal. With the entry of Yatra in Bengal from the neighboring state of Assam on Thursday morning, Rahul Gandhi gave the message that he has come here not to challenge India Alliance’s ally TMC, but to stand with them. However, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi returned to Delhi just hours after the Yatra entered Bengal.

Reason for returning to Delhi?

Rahul Gandhi left for the national capital on Thursday afternoon by a special plane. Although the exact reason behind the Congress leader’s return to Delhi is yet to be revealed, there are rumors in the party’s state unit that the development happened after an urgent call from his mother Sonia Gandhi. There are also rumors that Sonia Gandhi’s health suddenly deteriorated, due to which Rahul Gandhi had to return to Delhi.

Will Rahul go back to Bengal?

However, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesperson confirmed that Rahul Gandhi will return to West Bengal on Sunday morning and join the team in the yatra to Falakata in Alipurduar district. ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ entered West Bengal via Boxirhat in Cooch Behar district on Thursday morning. There Rahul Gandhi was welcomed by senior Congress leaders including state unit chief and five-time Lok Sabha MP Adhir Ranjan Choudhary.

CPI(M) will participate in the yatra

Already the state Congress leadership is facing some administrative hurdles in implementing various rally programs and party leaders fear similar hurdles in the coming days during the rally in West Bengal. Earlier on Wednesday, Trinamool Congress supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made an official announcement that her party will contest alone on all 42 parliamentary seats in West Bengal in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, the CPI(M) leadership has confirmed its participation in the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’. (With IANS inputs)
