New Delhi: India is celebrating its 75th Republic Day on 26 January. The country got independence on 15 August 1947 but our Constitution was implemented only on 26 January 1950. It took 2 years, 11 months and 17 days for the Constituent Assembly to make the Constitution of the country. During this period, several meetings of the Constituent Assembly were held and 284 members had put their signatures on the copy of the Constitution. Among these 284 people, 15 women were also included.

Who wrote the Constitution of India?

If someone asks you who wrote the Constitution of the country, your answer would probably be that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Your answer would also be correct, but BR Ambedkar was the head of the drafting committee. The Constitution was prepared under his supervision. But its original copy was written and prepared by someone else. Let us tell you that the world’s largest constitution was neither printed nor printed. It was written and decorated by an Indian with his own hands. Bihari Narayan Raizada loved the English copy of the Constitution. Prem Bihari had written it in calligraphy and he had not made a single mistake while writing. Along with this, 303 nibs and 354 ink bottles were used while writing. During this time it took him 6 months.

Constitution written on only one condition

It is believed that the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru was impressed by his talent and it was he who convinced him to write the Constitution by hand. When the government asked him for money for this work, he replied that he was doing a work for which no value could be put. Along with this, he demanded that in exchange for money, he wanted to write his name on every page of the Constitution. The government accepted his condition. After which he wrote his name ‘Prem’ at the bottom of the page.

Hindi copy written by Basant Krishna Vaidya

Along with this, the Hindi copy of the Constitution was written by Basant Krishna Vaidya. According to historians, Vaidya had taken proper remuneration for this. However, it is not clear how much money he took for this. Along with this, the pages of the Constitution were decorated by Nandlal Bose, Ram Manohar Sinha and their 22-member team of Shanti Niketan.

The original copy of the Constitution is 22 inches long and 16 inches wide.

Let us tell you that the original copy of the Constitution was 22 inches long and 16 inches wide. Its weight is approximately 13 kg and currently these handwritten copies are kept in the library of Parliament House. Here they are kept in a helium box, which is filled with nitrogen gas. Because of this, these handwritten copies have not been spoiled till now.
