The troubles of Goa’s Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude, who is facing corruption charges, are increasing. On the one hand, on the very first day of the special session of the budget, Goa Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar has accused Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude of being involved in misuse of funds and demanded an investigation. Case of threatening government officials
Congress has filed a police complaint against Gowde for allegedly threatening to kill government officials. Ramkrishna Zalmi, President of Tribal Cell of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee, in his written complaint has alleged and said that an alleged audio clip of the conversation between the Art and Culture Minister of Goa and the Director of Tribal Welfare is viral on social media in which the Minister Officer Are threatening. The letter further states that in the audio the Minister is talking about killing the Chairman of the Goa State SC/ST Commission, and the Chief Minister is silent on the matter.

Congress leader Zalmi has further said that we are complaining to the police and demanding that this audio be investigated and a case registered under relevant sections of the IPC. Let us tell you that an audio clip of the phone conversation between Gowde and Director of Tribal Welfare Dashrath Redkar has gone viral on social media. In this audio clip, Goud is allegedly threatening Redkar over releasing some funds to an organization for an ST/SC awareness programme.
What is the allegation of corruption?
Goa Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar has alleged that the Art and Culture Department had given huge funds to several organizations in Canacona. These organizations had submitted “fake proposals” for organizing cultural programmes. Tawadkar also alleged that Gowde had knowledge of the scam. For this reason there should be an investigation against him and his department. The opposition is also demanding the dismissal of the minister.
