There is a huge uproar in the politics of Jharkhand at present. State CM Hemant Soren is facing the threat of arrest by ED in the alleged land scam case. On Monday, the ED team reached Soren’s Delhi residence and camped there for more than 13 hours. The investigating agency has seized a BMW car from Soren’s residence. At the same time, Jharkhand BJP leader is accusing Hemant Soren of absconding. Meanwhile, now Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren has written a letter to ED.
the summons is malicious
Hemant Soren has written to ED in his letter – “”You are well aware that the budget session of the Legislative Assembly will be held between 2 and 29 February 2024. The CM will be busy in preparations for the same apart from other pre-scheduled official engagements. In these circumstances your insistence on recording another statement of the CM on or before January 31, 2024 is malicious.”
Accused of disrupting the functioning of the state
Hemant Soren, in his letter to the ED, has said that your summons exposes your political agenda of disrupting the functioning of the state government and preventing an elected representative of the people from discharging his official duties. It has been proven that your actions are malicious and politically motivated. Issuing summons to the CM is completely vexatious and a misuse of the powers given by law.
