Rebel Congress MLA from Himachal Pradesh Rajendra Rana.

Shimla: Rajendra Rana, who was among the 6 Congress MLAs of Himachal Pradesh who ‘cross-voted’ in the Rajya Sabha elections and was later disqualified from the membership of the Assembly, has given a big statement on Saturday. He termed Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s claim that some rebel MLAs want to return as ridiculous. Rana said that ‘at least 9 more MLAs’ of the party are in touch with him. He also accused Sukhu of misleading people with his statements. Rana said, ‘No one wants to return. On the other hand, at least 9 MLAs are in contact with us.

Rana also spoke on the decision of ‘cross voting’

Meanwhile, CM Sukhu has claimed that 80 percent of the Congress MLAs are together and the remaining MLAs are dissatisfied over minor issues. The CM said that he has discussed with the six disqualified MLAs and the situation will definitely improve after the formation of the coordination committee. When asked about ‘cross voting’ in the elections held on a Rajya Sabha seat in the state, Rana said, ‘We took this decision to maintain the honor of Himachal Pradesh and its people. Did Congress not have any candidate from among the party workers in the state who could represent Himachal Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha?

‘If Sonia Gandhi had contested elections…’

When asked about the possibility of ‘cross voting’ if Sonia Gandhi contests the Rajya Sabha election from Himachal Pradesh in place of Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Rana said, ‘She has contributed a lot to the country and has been the Congress President. Are. If she had contested elections from here, it would have been a different thing. BJP won the Rajya Sabha seat in the state and party candidate Harsh Mahajan defeated senior Congress leader Singhvi. Another disqualified Congress MLA, Indradutt Lakhanpal, said, ‘Some people are now calling us rebels or traitors. But we are not like that. We listened to the voice of our conscience. This was our personal decision.
