New Delhi: On one hand, there is a discussion going on regarding seat sharing in the opposition alliance, on the other hand, Bharatiya Janata Party also held an important meeting regarding the party’s strategy for the Lok Sabha elections. This important meeting took place in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda. In this meeting, the outline of the campaign for all 543 Lok Sabha seats was presented. Modi government worked for the welfare of the poor-Shah
Addressing over 300 leaders, Shah said that since coming to power in 2014, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has worked for the welfare of the poor and during his second term, India’s Global stature has increased manifold. Calling upon party leaders to reach out to voters with the government’s many successes, Shah said Modi has centered the country around the idea of ’self-reliant India’ while also giving a big boost to cultural nationalism.
The party should expand further across the country – Nadda
This statement of Amit Shah has come at a time when an atmosphere is being created in the country regarding the consecration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Shah said that the government is working towards making India a big power. In his remarks, party president JP Nadda said Nadda asked the leaders to ensure further expansion of the party across the country. He said leaders should see to it that the party wins more seats in states where it had limited success in 2019. Hinting that the BJP wanted to welcome leaders from other parties, Nadda said he was ready to take help from those who wanted to be part of the nationalist mainstream.
Countdown to preparations begins – Tawde
Tawde said that the party leaders in the meeting have already started the countdown of preparations in view of the possible Lok Sabha elections in April-May as per the 2019 election schedule. “We will work to ensure not only the victory of the BJP but also the victory of our allies from where they will contest the elections,” he said. Party leaders are part of the “Gaon Chale” campaign to connect with various polling groups. Shah attended the meeting a day after his elder sister Rajeshwari Ben died during treatment at a hospital in Mumbai. Her last rites were performed in Ahmedabad in the presence of family members, including Shah.
