Clash between Chinese soldiers and Indian shepherds on LAC.
Chinese soldiers have again messed with India near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. This time China’s PLA Army clashed with some Indian shepherds. A few days after Indian shepherds clashed with Chinese soldiers, the Ministry of External Affairs issued its statement on Thursday. The External Affairs Ministry said both sides are aware of the traditional grazing areas and any incidents of standoff are dealt with under existing mechanisms. Last month, the herders were reportedly stopped by Chinese troops in an area south of Chushul in eastern Ladakh.
A counselor of Chushul shared a video of the incident purportedly shot by local people on social media. Asked about the incident, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told a press conference, “Both sides are aware of the traditional grazing areas in the border areas.” Any incident of standoff is dealt with through appropriate conventional mechanisms.” Indian and Chinese troops have been in a standoff for more than three years at some of the standoff points in eastern Ladakh. Both sides have completed the process of withdrawal of troops from several areas after extensive diplomatic and military talks.
