Ranchi: The political turmoil in Jharkhand now seems to be coming to an end. Champai Soren will take oath as the new Chief Minister today. However, its time has not been decided yet. Along with this, hearing on sending former Chief Minister Hemant Soren to ED remand will also be held today. Soren was produced in a Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court on Thursday. Where the court had sent Hemant Soren to judicial custody for one day. After which he was sent to Birsa Munda jail of Ranchi.
ED asked for 10 days remand of Hemant Soren from the court
Let us tell you that ED had asked for 10 days remand of Hemant Soren from the court, on which there will be a debate today and the court will give its decision. On Thursday itself, Governor CP Radhakrishnan invited Champai Soren to take oath. Champai Soren will take oath as CM of Jharkhand today. They will have to prove majority within 10 days. The Governor called Jharkhand Mukti Morcha legislature party leader Champai Soren and Congress leader Alamgir Alam to Raj Bhavan late at night and invited Champai Soren to form the government.
Hemant was arrested on Wednesday night
Let us tell you that Hemant Soren was arrested by ED on Wednesday night after seven hours of interrogation in the money laundering case. He had resigned from the post of Chief Minister before his arrest. After this Champai Soren was elected leader of JMM Legislature Party. Champai Soren had said that we are united. Our alliance is very strong; No one can break it. A video released by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led alliance also showed the support of 43 MLAs in the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly. The MLAs of the alliance had created a ruckus in the Raj Bhavan due to the Governor not administering the oath.
