Karnataka Rajya Sabha election results are out
Bengaluru: The results of the Rajya Sabha elections held in Karnataka have come. Elections were held for 4 Rajya Sabha seats in the state, out of which 3 went to Congress and one to BJP. From the Congress side, party treasurer Ajay Maken, sitting Rajya Sabha member G. C. Chandrashekhar and Syed Naseer Hussain have won, while BJP’s Narayan Bandge has won. NDA had also fielded Janata Dal Secular leader Kupendra Reddy in the state but he had to face defeat.
7 SP MLAs, 1 SBSP MLA cross-voted in UP
According to sources, a total of 8 MLAs cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha elections held in Uttar Pradesh. Of these, 7 MLAs are from Samajwadi Party and one MLA is Suheldev from Bharatiya Samaj Party. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party MLA Maharaji Prajapati did not come to cast her vote.
The 7 SP MLAs who cross-voted are Rakesh Pandey, Abhay Singh, Rakesh Pratap Singh, Manoj Pandey, Vinod Chaturvedi, Pooja Pal and Ashutosh Maurya. At the same time, MLA Jagdish Narayan Rai of Om Prakash Rajbhar’s party voted for SP.
Voting completed on only seat of Himachal Pradesh
Voting for the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Himachal Pradesh ended on Tuesday. Voting started at 9 am. Congress MLA from Chintpurni Sudarshan Bablu was the last to cast his vote. Voting took place swiftly and all 68 MLAs have voted.
Congress MLA Bablu was brought to the assembly by helicopter as he was unwell. BJP has fielded Harsh Mahajan against Congress candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi.
