Mercury will drop in these states including Delhi, snowfall on mountains, fog alert here

Cold winds have increased the winter.

New Delhi: Snowfall in the hilly states and cold winds in the plains have extended the winter. Along with this, it is becoming dense in the morning at many places in North India. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of dense fog in many areas of Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Tripura and UP on December 14 and 15. A similar warning has been issued for Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on 14 December.

Minimum temperature will remain up to 10 degree Celsius

During the last 24 hours, minimum temperatures were recorded between 6 to 10 degrees Celsius in most areas of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Rajasthan and northern Uttar Pradesh. The minimum temperature at these places is expected to remain between 6 to 10 degrees during the next 24 hours.

Cold will increase in Delhi

Cold is increasing in Delhi-NCR also. The minimum temperature in Delhi on Wednesday was recorded at 7.4 degrees Celsius, which is one degree below normal. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature may fall again in the next two days. On Thursday, the air quality index (AQI) of the city was recorded in the very poor category.

Alert of heavy rain in these states

The Meteorological Department said that there may be heavy rain in southern Tamil Nadu on 16 and 17 December. Apart from this, there is a rain alert in Kerala also on 17th December. At the same time, there is a possibility of increase in rainfall activity in South Peninsular India on 16 and 17 December. The IMD forecast shows that isolated light to moderate rainfall at isolated places with isolated thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds is expected over Kerala and Mahe on December 16. The same prediction has been made for Tamil Nadu on 16 December. There will be heavy rainfall at isolated places. There is a possibility of rain in South Tamil Nadu also on 16th December.

Snowfall in hilly states

Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and There has been snowfall in Himachal Pradesh. Light snowfall occurred in the high altitude areas and mountain ranges of Kullu, Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti districts of Himachal in the last 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, a fresh western disturbance may affect the Himalayan region from December 16. However, the department has predicted dry weather in the area till December 19.

Temperature drops in Srinagar

Snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir has increased the cold. Srinagar recorded the coldest night of this season on Wednesday where the mercury dropped to minus 5.3 degrees Celsius. Amid cold wave like conditions in Kashmir, the mercury was recorded several degrees Celsius below zero in the entire Kashmir valley last night. The weather department said the weather will remain mainly dry till December 15, but there is a possibility of light rain over the weekend.
