For the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Corridor project, construction of 100 km of viaduct and installation of 230 km of pillars has been completed. National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), which is doing construction work under this ambitious project, gave this information. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also released a video in this regard on the social media platform ‘X’.
100 KM bridge built in 6 months
According to NHSRCL, these bridges include bridges over 6 rivers of Gujarat i.e. Par and Aurangabad in Valsad district, Purna, Mindhola, Ambika and Vengania in Navsari district. NHSRCL said, “The first girder of the project was installed on November 25, 2021 and in six months i.e. by June 30, 2022, one kilometer of the bridge was ready. On April 22 this year, the construction work of 50 kilometers of bridge was completed and then within six months, 100 kilometers of bridges were built.” He said that apart from this, the work of installing pillars for 250 kilometers of the project has also been completed. And noise barriers have been started on the sides of the constructed bridge.
The foundation of the Bullet Train project was laid in September 2017.
The total cost of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor project is estimated at Rs 1.08 lakh crore. As per the shareholding system, the Central Government will pay Rs 10,000 crore to NHSRCL, while the Gujarat Government will pay Rs 5,000 crore and the Maharashtra Government will also pay an equal amount. The remaining cost is being met through a loan from Japan at 0.1 percent interest.
The foundation stone of the Bullet Train project was laid in Ahmedabad in September 2017. The train is expected to cover the distance of over 500 kilometers in about two hours. (input language)
