Notice to IndiGo and Mumbai Airport.
Due to fog, passengers traveling by train and flight are facing a lot of trouble. Due to low visibility his journey is continuously getting delayed by several hours. Due to this situation, passengers have also started getting mentally disturbed. An example of this was seen at Mumbai Airport when the passengers of IndiGo flight, fed up with the flight delay, came out on the tarmac of the airport and sat there and started eating food. When the video of this incident went viral, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took strict action.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, on January 14, the flight coming from Goa to Delhi was diverted to Mumbai, after which the patience of the passengers broke and they sat on the tarmac and started eating food there. Passengers claimed that on January 14, the Delhi Indigo flight was delayed by about 18 hours. The video of this incident also went viral on social media and people started questioning the system.
Scindia came into action
After a video of passengers eating food on the tarmac went viral on social media, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia held a meeting with all officials of the ministry at midnight last night. MoCA’s Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has issued show cause notices to IndiGo and Mumbai Airport in this matter. In case of both the notices, MoCA has sought reply by 16.1.2024. If response is not received within the stipulated time, enforcement action including financial penalty will be initiated.
Indigo issued statement
A statement has also been issued by Indigo on this entire incident. The airline wrote – “We are aware of the incident involving IndiGo flight 6E2195 from Goa to Delhi on January 14, 2024. The flight was diverted to Mumbai due to low visibility conditions in Delhi. We sincerely apologize to our customers. We apologize to and are currently investigating the incident. We will take necessary steps to avoid any such incidents in future.
