New Delhi: PM Modi has congratulated the newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif. He has made a post on X, in which he has congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on taking oath as the PM of Pakistan. Let us tell you that recently general elections were held in Pakistan. After a lot of upheaval, it was decided that Shahbaz Sharif would become the PM. Shahbaz Sharif on Monday officially took oath as the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the second time. He took the oath of office nearly four weeks after the formation of a coalition government was delayed due to an uncertain national election.

Shahbaz once again returned to the role of PM

Shehbaz Sharif has once again returned to the role he played until August last year, when Parliament was dissolved to prepare for the elections. Economists, investors and foreign capital will now keep a close eye on Sharif’s announcement on the cabinet, especially the crucial finance portfolio. The next finance minister will immediately have to negotiate hard with the International Monetary Fund to secure a new funding agreement worth billions of dollars, with the current one expiring in April. PML-N sources told Reuters that four-time former finance minister Ishaq Dar remains the top contender, although several other candidates are being seriously considered.

This country gave the first congratulatory message

Shahbaz received the first congratulatory message from Türkiye. Tuki sent his best wishes to Shahbaz a day before the oath taking ceremony. Shahbaz is the 24th PM of Pakistan. He was elected Prime Minister on 3 March 2024. He had the support of 201 MPs. Let us tell you that he gave a speech in the Parliament for 1 hour 24 minutes. During this time his tongue had slipped. He declared himself the leader of the opposition instead of the PM. Shahbaz had also mentioned Kashmir. Sharif officially took charge at a swearing-in ceremony at the President’s Office in the capital Islamabad, a day after Parliament elected him Prime Minister despite opposition from MPs supporting jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
