Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhu has made this announcement. Let us tell you that a large number of people from Delhi, UP, Haryana go to Himachal and consume a lot of alcohol and roam on the streets. In such a situation, now the police will not put alcoholics in jail.
Government relaxed the rules
CM further said in the announcement that dhabas, restaurants and shops will remain open overnight till January 5 in the state. The government has relaxed the rules that if tourism businessmen wish to, they can provide services to tourists even at night. CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu made this announcement while inaugurating the Winter Carnival in Shimla on Monday. CM further said that tourists come for fun and it is not right to take them on a tour of jail. Now if the tourist is drunk then the police will take him to the hotel.
About 16 thousand vehicles are coming to Shimla daily
CM further clarified that this system is applicable only for tourists, local people will not get any exemption in this. The state’s tourism suffered a lot during the natural disaster. There was no expectation that it would be compensated. Let us tell you that in the last 2-3 days, the number of tourists in the state has increased significantly. Yesterday, a long queue of vehicles was seen in Kullu Manali. According to an estimate, about 16 thousand tourist vehicles are coming to Shimla every day.
