Pro-Pakistan sloganeering in Karnataka; Police caught the accused – India TV Hindi

Accused who raised slogans in support of Pakistan arrested.

Bengaluru: Recently Rajya Sabha elections have been completed. In the same sequence, Rajya Sabha elections were also held in Karnataka. In this, while three candidates of Congress won, one candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party won. Meanwhile, slogans were raised in support of Pakistan in Karnataka. Taking action in this case, the police have taken into custody a person resident of Haveri district. Police sources gave this information.

The accused is a resident of Haveri

According to the police, it has been learned that the detained person is a resident of Byadagi town of Haveri district. The accused person is a leading businessman of dry chilli. He had come to Vidhan Soud to celebrate the victory of Congress leader Syed Nasir Hussain in the Rajya Sabha elections. Based on the voice sample, police suspect that the chilli trader had raised slogans in support of Pakistan. He said that he has been brought to Bengaluru for further investigation. Vidhan Soudha police had registered a suo motu case against some unidentified people for allegedly raising anti-national slogans. BJP had also lodged a police complaint in connection with this incident.

CM assured action

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs, led by opposition leader R Ashok, took out a ‘Raj Bhavan Chalo’ march and demanded the dismissal of the Congress government, alleging poor law and order situation in the state. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday said police have questioned seven people in connection with alleged “pro-Pakistan” sloganeering by supporters of Congress leader Syed Nasir Hussain. Siddaramaiah assured that strict action would be taken against those raising slogans based on evidence and that the state government had no intention of protecting anyone.
