Rajat Sharma was born in the year 1957 in Sabzi Mandi area of ​​Delhi. The struggle in Rajat Sharma’s life started since childhood. He has six brothers and one sister. Recalling his days of struggle, Rajat Sharma says, “All nine of us, including our parents, lived in a 100-square-foot room, which we called home. Every day was a struggle for us. We had no water or electricity. There was no such common facility.”

He says that his initial education was from Sanatan Dharma Middle School. At night I used to study under the lamp post at Sabzi Mandi railway station. I knew that the only way to fight my poverty was to study hard and make my life worth living. And luckily I was good at studies. After this I joined Ramjas School in Karol Bagh and I had to walk to school from the vegetable market every day. Rajat Sharma says that during the Emergency, I also went to jail and spent 11 months in jail. During this time, I learned a lot there and decided that now my life will be dedicated to the country and society.

Rajat Sharma told the secret of his fitness

During a program, when a young man asked Rajat Sharma for tips to stay fit at this age, he told that it requires discipline. He said, “I tell all the youth that if you want fitness then you should drink more water, eat less, eat on time. Everyone knows this, there is no secret. But no one understands that it should be followed.”
