The results of the mayor elections held in Chandigarh have come out. BJP candidate has won the election for the post of Mayor in Chandigarh. BJP’s Manoj Sonkar has been made the Mayor of Chandigarh. BJP has defeated the alliance of Congress and AAP. While BJP has got 16 votes in this election, the AAP-Congress alliance has got only 12 votes. Apart from this, 8 votes have been rejected. Let us tell you that after the order of Punjab-Haryana High Court, elections for Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor were held in Chandigarh today. There were already speculations that the alliance of Congress and Aam Aadmi Party could have a direct contest with BJP. The results of voting, which started at 10 am today, also came by noon. All 35 councilors and MP Kirron Kher cast their vote in this election. This voting was conducted through ballot paper.

Whereas, from the AAP-Congress alliance, Gurpreet Singh Gabi has been made the candidate for the post of Senior Deputy Mayor and Nirmala Devi for the post of Deputy Mayor.
