Sheikh Shahjahan badly trapped in Sandeshkhali case, investigating agency attached apartment, land – India TV Hindi

Sheikh Shahjahan’s troubles increased

The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday said it has attached assets worth ₹12.78 crore of suspended TMC leader Shahjahan Shaikh, including a bank account, an apartment and agricultural and fishery lands in Sandeshkhali and Kolkata. A provisional order under Prevention of Money Laundering (PMLA) has been issued to attach these properties, the agency said in a statement. Sheikh’s supporters are accused of attacking the ED team at Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district on January 5. In this case, West Bengal Police arrested him on 29 February. After the arrest, TMC had suspended this powerful leader from the party.

Police did not hand over Sheikh Shahjahan to CBI

Despite the order of Calcutta High Court, CID of West Bengal Police has not handed over Sheikh Shahjahan, the main accused in the attack on ED officers, to CBI. The CBI team had reached the CID office in Kolkata along with paramilitary forces to take Sheikh into custody, but the central investigating agency had to return empty handed. Let us tell you that on January 5, the Calcutta High Court had ordered to hand over the investigation of the attack on ED officials to the CBI and the court had also said that the custody of Shahjahan Sheikh should be given to the CBI till 4.30 pm.

Mamta government reached Supreme Court

Mamata government of West Bengal has reached the Supreme Court against the decision of the High Court. Now the case can be heard in the court on Wednesday. Meanwhile, ED has attached property worth Rs 12.78 crore including Shahjahan Sheikh’s apartment and land. In such a situation, it seems that Sheikh Shahjahan’s troubles may increase. Regarding this, Mamata government is also being accused of saving Sheikh Shahjahan.
