Baliya: Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya on Sunday alleged that the BJP won the recent state assembly elections and the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections due to misuse of electronic voting machines (EVMs). Attacking BJP, Maurya said that the people who beat the drum of Sanatan Dharma do not understand the meaning of the word Sanatan, such people are anti-Sanatan whereas ‘we are more Sanatani than them.’

This victory is not due to PM Modi’s charisma: Maurya

Maurya, who left BJP in January last year and is now the national general secretary of SP, was talking to journalists on the sidelines of a Buddhist conference in Rasra area of the district. In reference to the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the assembly elections in three states Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Maurya said, “I say with certainty that BJP is winning the elections by misusing EVMs.” This victory is not of (Prime Minister) Modi or Modi’s charisma, but of the misuse of EVMs.

He said that if EVMs had not been misused, BJP would have been wiped out from Uttar Pradesh in the 2022 assembly elections itself. In response to a question related to Sanatan Dharma, the SP leader said, “The people who beat the drum of Sanatan Dharma do not understand the meaning of the word Sanatan.” Sanatan Dharma is a word coming from the mouth of Lord Buddha. While giving the message to his disciples, at the end he used to say that what I am saying is Sanatan Dharma.

Maurya said this about those who believe in Sanatan Dharma

Attacking those who believe in Sanatan Dharma, Swami said, “They imitate. They become very Sanatan by taking Sanatan of Buddhism. There is a lot of difference between their eternality and the eternality of truth. The truth which was eternal in the beginning, is there even today and will remain so in the future also.”

Maurya said, “Just like the sun gives light to everyone. The Sun does not discriminate between Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian in giving its light. He does not discriminate between Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra. Similarly, air, water and fire provide their power equally to everyone. This is eternal.”

Regarding the Allahabad High Court’s approval for the ASI survey of the Shahi Idgah complex adjacent to the Krishna Janmabhoomi and the Kashi Vishwanath controversy, he alleged that religious institutions are trying to disturb communal harmony. Regarding the role of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Uttar Pradesh, the SP leader said, “Kumar is the architect of opposition unity.” He started and initiated the India Alliance. If he plays an active role, it is welcome.

When asked about BSP chief Mayawati joining the ‘India’ alliance, he said, “Mayawati herself will decide about joining the ‘India’ alliance, who are we to give advice.” (input language)
