Uttarkashi: The rescue work to rescue 40 laborers trapped in the tunnel being built for the highway in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand continued for the 7th day on Saturday. Meanwhile, a team of five senior officers led by Mangesh Ghildiyal, Deputy Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office, also reached the accident site and took stock of the rescue operations. Meanwhile, news has come that not 40 but 41 workers are trapped in the tunnel. The name of the 41st person is Deepak Kumar (son Shatrughan), a resident of Gijas Tola, Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The third auger drilling machine was also brought here from Indore on Saturday. Parts of the machine have also arrived. The machine is being assembled.

CM is continuously taking information about the rescue operation.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the work being done to evacuate the workers safely. The Chief Minister is continuously taking information about the rescue operation by holding meetings with the officials, while on the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also continuously taking updates regarding the tunnel rescue operation in Silkyara, Uttarkashi. He says, “The rescue operation should be completed as soon as possible. We cannot fix the time to complete the rescue right now. But we are looking at which way we can quickly reach the people trapped in the tunnel. “

Team of senior officers arrived

Meanwhile, a team of five senior officers from the Prime Minister’s Office reached the Silkyara Tunnel rescue site in Uttarkashi. Apart from Mangesh Ghildiyal, the team includes Geologist Engineer Varun Adhikari, Deputy Secretary Mahmood Ahmed, OSD-Tourism Bhaskar Khulve and Export Engineer Armando Caplan. This team will work in coordination with the rescue team. A team of 5-member officers from PMO also reached Silkyara and inspected the rescue operations.

PM is taking moment to moment updates

Geologist Engineer Varun Adhikari said, “We are discussing what else can be done in the rescue. We will take the work forward according to the conclusion that comes from the discussion. Prime Minister’s moment-to-moment update Taking it!” Deputy Secretary in PMO Bhaskar Khulbe said, “Our priority is to rescue the people trapped in the tunnel for the last seven days. We are trying to reach the trapped people as soon as possible. The help of all those who are engaged in the work is also being sought. Foreign experts are also lending a hand in this. Some experts from Norway have also reached Uttarkashi. Experts from the Australian Consultancy Company of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited have also reached the spot.” Two auger machines are already engaged in removing debris from the tunnel. It is being told that these heavy machines are causing vibrations in the tunnel during drilling. This has increased the risk of more debris falling. The auger machine drilling in Silkyara Tunnel is of 1750 horse power. So far five pipes have been connected and inserted into the tunnel. (IANS)
