Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud on Thursday inaugurated the AYUSH Holistic Wellness Center in the Supreme Court premises. The Chief Justice said that he practices yoga and follows a vegetarian diet. On this occasion, CJI Chandrachud shared a special anecdote related to AYUSH. He told that when he was suffering from Corona infection, PM Modi had called and arranged for legitimate medicines for him.
I am a supporter of Ayurveda- CJI Chandrachud
Speaking at the inauguration of the Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre, CJI DY Chandrachud said that for me, this is a satisfying moment. I have been working on this ever since I took over as CJI. I am a supporter of Ayurveda and holistic lifestyle. We have more than 2000 staff members and we must consider the overall pattern of living. Not only for the judges and their immediate families, but also for the staff members. He said that I am very grateful to all the doctors of AYUSH. We are presenting it before the Supreme Court and through it the entire country.
Following yoga and vegetarianism
CJI Chandrachud told that he does yoga and follows a vegetarian diet. He said that I have followed a completely vegetarian diet in the last five months and I will continue it. I try to focus on the holistic pattern of life that starts with what you eat. He said that they are very worried about all the judges, their families and more than 2000 staff members of the Supreme Court as they do not get the same facilities as the judges. CJI said that I want them to have a holistic pattern of life. I want to thank Minister Sarbananda Sonowal for this.
When PM Modi helped
Recalling the Corona period, CJI Chandrachud said – “I have been associated with AYUSH since the outbreak of Covid. Covid had a very bad effect on me and the Prime Minister called me and said, ‘I believe that you are suffering from Covid. And I hope everything is fine. I realize that you are not in a good condition, but we will do everything. There is a Vaidya who is also the secretary in AYUSH and I will arrange a call with him who will give you the medicine and Will send everything. CZAI told that when I was suffering from Covid, I took medicine from AYUSH. The second and third time when I got Covid, I did not take any allopathic medicine at all.
