New Delhi: Monday is a big day for Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, who is facing allegations of taking money from a businessman in exchange for asking questions. The winter session of the Lok Sabha is starting from Monday 4th December and on the same day the report in this case against him will be presented in the House. After this report, it will be decided whether Mahua Moitra will remain a member of the Lok Sabha or she will have to lose her membership.

Let us tell you that the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha has recommended the expulsion of Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra from the House in the case of ‘asking questions after taking bribe’. According to the agenda circulated by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Ethics Committee Chairman Vinod Kumar Sonkar will table the report of the committee in the House. The committee had accepted its report in a meeting on November 9 last, recommending the expulsion of Moitra from the Lok Sabha.

The report recommends expulsion

Six members of the committee had voted in favor of the report, including Congress MP Preneet Kaur, who had already been suspended from the party. Four committee members belonging to opposition parties submitted dissent notes. Opposition members had termed the report as a “fixed match” and said that no evidence was provided to support the complaint made by BJP Lok Sabha member Nishikant Dubey. If the House approves this report, Moitra’s membership will be terminated. The winter session of Parliament is starting from Monday and will continue till December 22.
