There is a trend of eating and making Gujiya especially on Holi. In villages and small towns, everyone goes to each other’s house and makes Gujiya. Gujiyas are prepared in everyone’s house 2 days before Holi. Home made Mawa Gujiya has a different taste. It is so soft that it melts as soon as it is placed in the mouth. Ingredients needed to make Gujiya

  • You have to take 2 cups of flour.
  • About 250 grams of mawa is required.
  • 1 cup sugar powder or sugar powder.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom.
  • Finely chop 8-10 almonds.
  • You have to take 10-15 raisins.
  • Finely chop 8-10 cashews.
  • Have to take 15-20 Chironji.
  • Ghee for frying Gujiya

Gujiya recipe

  • To prepare Gujiya, first prepare Mawa from milk at home or you can also buy Mawa from the market.

  • If you have market mawa, put it in a pan and fry it lightly until it turns golden.

  • When the mawa cools down, add boora, chopped cashews, almonds and raisins to it.

  • Prepare cardamom powder by mixing it well.

  • Now it is the turn to knead the flour, so sift the flour and mix about 5 teaspoons of ghee.

  • Now knead soft dough with lukewarm water. Keep the dough covered with a cloth for 20 minutes.

  • Now make small balls from the dough and roll them round like puri.

  • Place the puri in the gujiya maker and fill 1 spoon mawa filling in the middle and close the mould.

  • Make a batter by adding 1 teaspoon flour and 2 teaspoons water in a bowl.

  • While making Gujiya, apply this batter on the edge and then close the mould. This will prevent the Gujiya from bursting.

  • You have to prepare all the Gujiyas like this. Prepare Gujiya and keep it covered in a covered vessel.

  • Now heat ghee in a pan and fry the Gujiya in it while keeping the gas flame medium.

  • Add 2-3 Gujiyas at a time and bake till they turn golden.

  • Very soft Mawa Gujiya is ready. Keep them sealed in a box. These will not spoil for a week.
