Ingredients for making laddus
- Sesame seeds – 1 cup
- Jaggery – 1 cup
- Desi ghee – 1 tsp
Method to make laddu
To make sesame laddu, first put sesame seeds in a pan and fry it on low flame. Fry the sesame seeds until they turn pink. Put 1 spoon of desi ghee in the pan and then add jaggery in it and let it cook on medium flame. Keep stirring until the jaggery melts completely. Boil the jaggery until it thickens. Add roasted sesame seeds to melted jaggery and mix well. When this mixture cools down a bit, start making round shaped laddus. Flavorful sesame laddus are ready.
- Increase immunity – It is said that zinc is found in good quantity in sesame seeds. Along with zinc, iron, selenium, copper, vitamin B6 and vitamin E help in boosting the immune system. If someone consumes 30 grams of sesame seeds, he gets 20 percent of the daily requirement of zinc.
- Helps in joint pain- A compound called sesamin is found in sesame seeds, which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. It protects the knee cartilage which helps in reducing knee pain.
- Good for heart- Sesame seeds are high in magnesium which can help lower blood pressure. Apart from this, their antioxidants can help in preventing plaque buildup for heart health, hence sesame and jaggery laddus should be eaten in winters.
- Keep blood sugar under control- Sesame seeds contain very less amount of carbohydrate and contain more amount of healthy fat along with protein, hence blood sugar can be controlled by consuming it.
