On Thursday, BCCI released the schedule for the first 17 days regarding IPL 2024. The first match of the tournament will be played on 22 March. The first phase matches will be played till 7th April. Due to the general elections in India, the tournament is being played in two phases. The schedule of the second phase is yet to be announced. This will be announced after the dates of general elections. As soon as the schedule of IPL 2024 was released, the Delhi Capitals team has made a big announcement. He has said many things about Pant’s role in the team this season.
Delhi Capitals has to play a total of 7 matches in the first phase of IPL. As soon as the tournament schedule was released, Delhi Capitals owner Parth Jindal has said that captain Rishabh Pant will not do wicketkeeping in the first part of IPL 2024. Jindal expressed confidence in the match fitness of the keeper-batsman and said that he is looking good. Pant had to face a fatal accident in December 2022, since then Pant has been staying away from professional cricket. Pant recently played a few practice matches in Aloor and posted an Instagram video of his keeping. Pant’s return will provide a lot of strength to the Capitals.

Speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, the owner of IPL franchise Delhi Capitals said that Rishabh is batting well. He is running. He has started his wicketkeeping. He will be completely fit for IPL. I hope that Rishabh will play IPL and he will also captain the team from the first match. The first seven matches, we will play him only as a batsman and depending on how his body responds, we will take a decision for the remaining matches of the IPL.

We have a very good squad and a lot of options with players like Tristan Stubbs, who did wonders in the SA20, and Mitch Marsh becoming the captain of Australia’s T20I team. Capitals will play their first match of IPL 2024 against Punjab Kings on March 23 in Mohali.
