French Open Super 750 Badminton Tournament: World No. 1 men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have started the French Open Super 750 badminton tournament with a win. In the round of 32 of the French Open 2024, Satwik-Chirag faced Ong Yu Sin and Teo Ee Yee of Malaysia. In this match, Satwik-Chirag pair won one-sidedly.
Satwik-Chirag pair won the first match
Satwik-Chirag pair defeated Malaysian pair in straight sets in the round of 32 match. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won the match by 21-13 and 24-23. By winning this match, Satwik-Chirag have qualified for Round-16. Let us tell you that this Indian pair had won the French Open title in 2022 and was the runner-up in 2019. However, last year they faced defeat in the pre-quarterfinals against Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan.
Satwik-Chirag are strong contenders to win the French Open
The pair of Satwik and Chirag have failed to win the finals in the last three major events. The pair had to face defeat in the finals of China Masters Super 750 in November, Malaysia Open Super 1000 in January and India Open Super 750. However, in the French Open, this Indian pair has emerged as a strong contender for the title.
