Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have not got a place in the Indian team for the Test series against South Africa. The Indian team played its last Test series against West Indies. Rahane played in this series, but Pujara did not get a chance. Now after 12 years, it will happen that Team India will play Test matches on foreign soil without these two legendary players. Otherwise, every time one of these two players would definitely join Team India for a foreign tour.

Pujara was struggling with bad form

Cheteshwar Pujara has been struggling with poor form for some time now and it has become difficult to get runs from his bat. Their place has been taken by players like Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Pujara has scored 7195 runs in 103 test matches for Team India, which includes 19 centuries. Ajinkya Rahane has played 85 test matches for Team India and scored 5077 runs, which includes 12 centuries. 188 has been his best score. Apart from this, he also participated in 90 Test and 20 T20 matches for Team India.

Even before the Test series, star opener batsman Rituraj Gaikwad was out due to injury. Abhimanyu Easwaran has got a chance in his place. The Indian team already has Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul to open with captain Rohit Sharma. But now it remains to be seen who gets a chance in the playing eleven of Team India.
