IPL 2024 Auction Players List: The auction stage is about to be set for IPL 2024. Till now only speculations were being made, but now it has been finalized by BCCI. This time the auction will not be held in India but in Dubai, and its date will be 19th December. That means this will be the day when bids will be placed on players from all over the world. In the reports coming in so far, it has been revealed that a total of 1166 players have given their names for the auction. However, now this list will have to be trimmed and after that the shortlist will be released, the number of players in it will be reduced.

Highest base price in IPL auction 2024 is Rs 2 crore

This time too in IPL, there are such players who have kept their base price at Rs 2 crore, Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 1 crore. Many of these players are those who have played IPL before, while you will also see some names who are coming to play in IPL for the first time. The base price of the players means that the bidding for that player will start with the same amount, after which the teams will keep increasing their bids. Many times it happens that when the base price is high, teams do not bid on them, this also causes loss to the player. This time, the big players who have given their names for auction include the names of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Rachin Ravindra, Travis Head, Harry Brook, Steve Smith etc. These are the foreign players, while talking about the big Indian players. If done, it includes Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Kedar Jadhav and Harshal Patel etc.

Teams have only 77 spots vacant, maximum 30 foreign players will be sold

The special thing about the auction is that the teams have only a maximum of 77 slots vacant. BCCI’s rule is that all teams can have a minimum of 18 and maximum of 25 players in their squad. This means that if 10 teams complete their squad, then only 77 players will be able to be sold and if any team reduces the number, then less than 77 players will be able to be sold. Not only this, out of these 77 slots for foreign players, only 30 are vacant. The remaining players will remain unsold. It remains to be seen what will be the number when the list gets shortened and then on December 19, which player will be sold at the highest price.
