Karnataka bowlers pale in front of Deepak Hooda’s stormy innings, Rajasthan reaches final after 17 years

In the second semi-final of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023, Rajasthan team has confirmed its place in the final after 17 years by defeating Karnataka by 6 wickets. Batting first in this match, Karnataka team scored 282 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. While chasing the target, Rajasthan team lost its 3 wickets till the score of 23. From here, Deepak Hooda played an important role in helping the team win by playing a brilliant inning of 180 runs in 128 balls. In this match, Rajasthan achieved the target in 43.4 overs. Now on December 16, they will face Haryana team in the final.

Rajasthan team, which came to chase the target of 283 runs, had a very poor start in which they lost both their opening batsmen at the score of 1. After this, the team got its third blow on the score of 23 in the form of Mahipal Lomror who returned to the pavilion after scoring 14 runs. After this, Deepak started the process of scoring runs rapidly from one end, in which he completed his century in just 85 balls and brought the team back into the match. From here Deepak did not give any chance to the Karnataka team to make a comeback in the match. Deepak hit 19 fours and 5 sixes during his innings of 180 runs, during which his batting strike rate was 140.62. Whereas Karan Lamba remained unbeaten till the end in this match and returned after playing a brilliant inning of 73 runs in 112 balls and leading the team to victory.

Talking about Deepak Hooda’s performance with the bat in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023, he has scored 480 runs in 7 innings of 8 matches at an average of 80, in which he has played 2 centuries and 2 half-centuries. This is Deepak’s sixth century in his List-A career and it is also his best innings in this format so far. Let us tell you that Deepak has been retained by the Lucknow Super Giants team for the upcoming 2024 season of the Indian Premier League.
