Ban imposed due to this reason
The International League T20 has banned spinner Noor Ahmed for 12 months for violating his player agreement with Sharjah Warriors. Sharjah Warriors team signed him for Season 1 of the tournament. After this, Noor was offered one more year’s retention by the Warriors team. But he refused to sign the retention notice for season 2.
The committee announced its decision
Noor played for Sharjah Warriors in Season 1 of the ILT20 (January–February 2023), who had sent him a retention notice on the same terms and conditions as per the player agreement terms ahead of Season 2. After Noor’s refusal, Sharjah Warriors approached ILT20 to intervene in the dispute. The three-member disciplinary committee of ILT20 investigated the matter and after hearing both sides separately, banned Noor for 12 months.
Earlier, the committee had initially recommended a 20-month ban on Noor Ahmed, but this took into account the fact that Noor was a minor at the time of signing the player agreement and told the committee that his agent had signed him for the contract. Was not informed about full conditions. For this reason he was again given relaxation of 8 months.
Last placed team
Sharjah Warriors team could not perform well in ILT20 2024. Shahjah Warriors has been successful in winning only 4 out of 10 matches and the team had to face defeat in 8 matches. The team stood last in the points table.
