The player auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season can be considered special in many ways. For the first time, the bid to include a player in the team in the auction crossed Rs 20 crore. This was seen with two players, the first name of which is current Australian captain Pat Cummins, who has been included in their team by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 20 crore 50 lakh. The second player is his compatriot left arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc, whom Kolkata Knight Riders made a part of their team in the auction for Rs 24 crore 75 lakh. Starc last played in the IPL in the 2015 season and at that time he was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team.
I did not play the last few IPL seasons to keep myself fresh.
Mitchell Starc has now returned to IPL after a long time. According to his statement published in PTI, he said that arranging one kind of cricket schedule is a very difficult task, you can do two things at the same time. That’s why I always thought it best to spend time away from cricket with Alyssa and her family. He tried to keep his body fit to prepare himself for Australia. I don’t regret this. I think this break has helped me a lot in playing Test cricket. Money is always good and it was this time too but I always gave first priority to international cricket and it helped me a lot in continuously improving my game and keeping myself fit.
Starc’s performance in IPL has been like this so far
When Mitchell Starc played in the IPL, he was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. He has played 27 matches in the IPL so far and during this time he has managed to take 34 wickets with an economy rate of 7.17. Starc has seen excellent performance so far this year in both Test and ODI formats, in which he played a very important role in helping his team win the title in the ODI World Cup 2023.
