Both sides followed the ceasefire on the 50th day of the Israel-Hamas war. Hamas will free 14 Israeli hostages for the second day on Saturday as part of a four-day ceasefire agreement. Whereas in return Israel will release 42 Palestinian prisoners. A senior Egyptian official gave this information. Mediators Egypt and Qatar have given Israel a list of hostages provided by Hamas who are to be released, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

On the first day of a four-day ceasefire, Hamas released 24 of the approximately 240 people taken hostage during the October 7 attack on Israel in exchange for 39 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. Among the released hostages, 13 people are from Israel, 10 from Thailand and one from Philippines.
