Iran has fired several missiles into Iraq and Syria.

Erbil: The Middle East seems to be moving towards a major war between Israel and Hamas. According to reports, Iran struck an ‘espionage headquarters and a gathering place of anti-Iran terrorist groups’ shortly after the missile attacks on an area near the US Consulate in Erbil. Giving information about this on Monday, Iran said that it attacked ‘terrorist activities’ including the bases of Islamic State in Syria. At the same time, an American official said that he had an eye on the missiles fired by Iran.

‘4 civilians killed, 6 injured in attacks’

The Security Council of the Kurdish regional government said in a statement that four civilians were killed and six were injured in the attacks. According to a post shared on the social media platform ‘X’ by former Iraqi MP Mashan al-Jabouri, one of the attacks killed prominent local businessman Peshra Dizai and his family members. He said that a missile fell on Dijai’s ‘residence which is next door to my house.’ Several other regional political figures in Iraq have also confirmed Dijai’s death.

‘We attacked Mossad headquarters’

Soon after, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said in a statement carried in state media that it had attacked “terrorist activities”, including Islamic State targets in Syria, and destroyed them by firing several ballistic missiles. Another statement claimed that it attacked the headquarters of Israeli intelligence agency Mossad in the Kurdish region of Iraq. The Islamic State terrorist organization claimed responsibility earlier this month for two suicide bombings targeting an event commemorating an Iranian general killed in a 2020 US drone strike.

Iran has made serious allegations against Israel

At least 84 people were killed and 284 others were injured in the attack on a ceremony held in honor of Revolutionary Guard General Qassem Soleimani. Iran has accused Israel of killing a senior Iranian general, Seyed Razi Mousavi, in an airstrike in a neighborhood of Damascus. A US defense official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the US had monitored the missiles that fell in northern Iraq and northern Syria and that no US facilities were affected or damaged in the strikes.
