Brahmos Missile News: China and Pakistan have always been afraid of India’s BrahMos missile. Meanwhile, the Indian Navy has recently increased the firepower of BrahMos missile and has successfully tested the extended range BrahMos missile. With this successful test, the range of BrahMos missile has now increased to 900 kilometers. The great thing is that this upgradation can also be applied to the already existing stock of BrahMos missiles. This may increase the tension between China and Pakistan.
On January 24, the Indian Navy successfully hit a ground target with the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile. The length of the area warning (NOTAM) issued by India for this missile test was about 900 kilometers. This is the longest known area warning for the test of BrahMos missile. This indicates that the BrahMos missile is now capable of reaching a range of up to 900 km.
BrahMos is a joint project of India and Russia
The BrahMos missile has been manufactured through a joint project between India and Russia. Initially the range of this missile was limited to only 290 kilometers. Because then India was not a participant in the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR). India became a member in 2016 and by March 2017 had demonstrated the missile’s range of over 400 km. Then its range was further expanded. It can also be deployed in fighter jets.
These areas of Pakistan also came under the influence of BrahMos.
BrahMos Aerospace itself had told that it is working on increasing the range of BrahMos missile to 900 kilometers. The three-fold increase in range since 2016 is notable because this extension can be applied to all variants of the BrahMos missile. The new variant of BrahMos missile can easily target military bases in entire Pakistan occupied Kashmir, places like Sialkot, Lahore, Gujranwala, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan.
These areas of China will also be in JD
Apart from this, the Chinese army bases present in Aksai Chin occupied by China will also be under its jurisdiction. The extended variant of BrahMos can also target Chinese army bases located around Nyangchi bordering Arunachal Pradesh, Kamba County bordering Sikkim, Geerang County bordering Uttarakhand and the G219 highway passing close to the Indian border.
