Indonesia has been shaken once again by earthquakes. This earthquake occurred after a disturbance under the sea. Suddenly the earth started shaking and people’s breath stopped after seeing this scene. Out of panic, people started running here and there to save their lives. However, fortunately there was no major damage. But panic spread among the people due to the earthquake. Aceh province was shaken by this strong undersea earthquake in Indonesia. According to local bodies, there is no immediate news of any damage or casualties due to the earthquake so far.
The US Geological Survey said the magnitude 5.9 quake was epicentered 362 kilometers (225 miles) east of the coastal city of Sinabang in Aceh province at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). Indonesia’s ‘Metrological, Climatology and Geophysical Agency’ said there was no danger of a tsunami, but it issued a warning about more aftershocks after the earthquake. The agency has reported the initial intensity of the earthquake to be 6.3. Indonesia, a vast archipelago with a population of more than 270 million people, is prone to frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
Earthquakes have happened many times before
Indonesia has experienced several earthquakes in the last one year. Dozens of people have also died during this period. A large number of houses, buildings and shops have also been damaged. However, there is no news of any death so far in this earthquake. Other losses are also being assessed.
