Before the formation of the new government in Pakistan, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has targeted the terrorism being spread by Pakistan across the world without naming it. Jaishankar on Saturday ruled out any immediate possibility of revival of regional grouping South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), saying it was not possible because of terrorism by one country. He also accused Pakistan of using the ‘toolkit’ of terrorism in various ways against other countries including SAARC members.

Without directly naming Pakistan, Jaishankar said in a ‘think tank’ interactive session at the Anant Aspen Center that SAARC is in crisis because one of its member states is continuously supporting terrorism. “If you ask me whether I see a future for SAARC, you are actually asking me whether I see a future for that country,” the External Affairs Minister said. Because if that country does not really leave these types of options in its arsenal or toolkit, it is not just SAARC that is in danger. I mean, very clearly, you are looking at the situation in that country also.” Without naming Pakistan, Jaishankar said, ”I would clearly say that today foreign interference has increased in many ways in this country. Used to be. It is important for the common man to understand how the world is changing, as this is the era of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and deepfakes.

Jaishankar said that in times of crisis in the world, only India comes in handy.

When asked whether India is considered a domineering country by its neighbors, Jaishankar said, “When neighboring countries are in trouble, the big domineering country does not give US $ 4.5 billion.” When the Covid (pandemic) was going on, the big dominant countries did not supply vaccines to other countries and made exceptions in their own rules to ensure food demand, fuel demand, fertilizer supply, because War in another part of the world had complicated their lives. ”The External Affairs Minister said that SAARC is in trouble because one of its members is supporting terrorism. SAARC is an organization of South Asian countries which includes India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Jaishankar said that only one country is the problem

“Very honestly, our problem in the neighborhood is with one country,” Jaishankar said. In diplomacy, you always maintain expectations. One day who knows what will happen in the future. S Jaishankar on Saturday warned of the dangers posed to national security by new technologies like artificial intelligence and deepfakes and said attempts at foreign interference through the cyber domain were increasing. Jaishankar said that there is a need to be cautious of threats emanating from the cyber domain. “When we think about security, it is not just protecting the borders, it is not countering terrorism alone,” he said. Rather, it is a daily routine that is susceptible to manipulation today, and this is increasing. (language)
