North Korea tests nuclear missile.
Seoul: North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un has sparked outrage from South Korea to Japan and the United States by testing another heavily armed cruise missile. Kim Jong has ordered his army to be ready for war. Therefore, the North Korean army is continuously testing big weapons. The missile tested this time is equipped with nuclear weapons. North Korea said it has tested a new type of anti-aircraft missile as well as cruise missiles equipped with new “large” warheads.
The report in North Korea’s state media on Saturday came a day after South Korea’s military said it had detected North Korea testing multiple cruise missiles in the sea off its west coast. This is the country’s fourth phase of testing of such weapons in 2024. Pictures of North Korea’s test show that a low-flying cruise missile hit a beach target and another missile was seen flying into the air after being fired from the ground. While declaring that the cruise missiles are equipped with large warheads, North Korea may try to emphasize that these missiles are equipped with nuclear warheads.
Fear of testing multiple missiles simultaneously
North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency did not say how many missiles were tested nor gave details of their performance. There is a suspicion that several missiles have been tested simultaneously. The agency said the tests were “normal activities” for military development and had no impact on the security of neighboring countries. Analysts say North Korea could benefit from increased military cooperation with Russia in the field of anti-aircraft missile technology. (AP)
