Colombo: Amidst the ongoing tension between India and China, when a large group of Indian Coast Guard along with several ships reached Galle port of Sri Lanka, there was panic in the Chinese camp. Earlier, China’s spy ship has also created sensation several times by reaching the port of Sri Lanka. But now China is worried about Indian ships reaching Sri Lanka. Let us inform that two Indian Coast Guard ships have reached Galle Port of Sri Lanka on a formal visit to facilitate professional exchange and conduct joint training exercises. An Indian Coast Guard (ICG) offshore patrol vessel ‘Samarth’ and fast patrol vessel ‘Abhinav’ reached the southern port of Galle on Tuesday, the Indian High Commission said. These Indian ships will visit Colombo from March 2 to 5 before departing from the island country Sri Lanka. “Indian Coast Guard ships Samarth and Abhinav arrived at Galle Port today on a goodwill visit to Sri Lanka,” the Indian Coast Guard said in a post on social media platform ‘X’. This visit of ICG ships will facilitate professional exchange and joint exercises with the Sri Lanka Coast Guard.” Deputy Inspector General P. Pradeep Kumar, Commanding Officer of the Indian Coast Guard Ships and Commandant (JG) Prabhat Kumar accompanied the Director General of the Sri Lankan Coast Guard during the visit. And will also meet other senior officials.

Indian Coast Guard will conduct training campaign

“During the stay, these ships will conduct training for the Sri Lankan Coast Guard on VBSS (Visit, Board, Search and Seizure), fire fighting and damage control, marine pollution response and conduct some other professional interactions,” the press release said. “In addition, activities like yoga, beach cleanup and walkathon will also be conducted during the voyage. Additionally, ‘Passage Exercise’ (PASSEX) will be conducted with a Sri Lankan Coast Guard ship during departure from Galle and Colombo,” the release said.
