Miscreants set fire to train in Bangladesh immediately after opening, 4 people died tragically

Four people died after a train in Bangladesh was set on fire.

Dhaka: Amidst the ongoing political turmoil in Bangladesh regarding the elections to be held on January 7 next year, there are continuous reports of violence. In this series, unknown people set fire to a passenger train in the capital Dhaka on Tuesday, resulting in the tragic death of at least 4 people, including a woman and her minor son. The attack took place during a nationwide shutdown called by the country’s main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party as part of an ongoing campaign to boycott the elections and launch a formal protest against the election schedule announced by the Election Commission.

The train was set on fire as soon as it opened

Let us tell you that this is the fifth incident of arson in a train in Bangladesh in the last few months. This time 4 people died tragically in the attack. Police and eyewitnesses said that miscreants set fire to three coaches of the train in the morning, soon after the opening of the Interdistrict Mohanganj Express from the Airport Railway Station to Dhaka at the entry point of the capital Dhaka. Mohammad Mohsin, in-charge of Tejgaon police station, said, ‘After the train started from the airport station, the passengers saw the fire, after which it was stopped at the next stop, Tejgaon station.’

This is the fifth incident of arson in a train in the last few months.

The minor was not found

Mohsin said that at least four people, including a woman and her child, lost their lives when the train was set on fire amid the strike called by BNP. The station in-charge said another minor boy was missing, and his mother was waiting for him in front of the burnt compartment while fire service rescue teams searched inside. Railway officials said the locomotive master stopped the train at Tejgaon, where fire service rescue personnel extinguished the fire and retrieved the bodies of four people. He said that two dead bodies could not be identified.
