Monarchy ended in Nepal in the year 2008. Supporters of former Nepal King Gyanendra reached Nepal’s capital Kathmandu from all over the country to demand the return of this monarchy. There was so much anger among the people regarding the creation of Hindu Rashtra that the police had to work hard to control the crowd. The police had to use batons and tear gas to disperse the crowd that took to the streets.

The protesters accused Nepal’s government and other political parties of corruption and governance failure. The intention behind the demand of these people to establish a monarchy was clearly visible in the protests.
