Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday gave a big blow to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The commission rejected Nawaz’s plea in which he had sought to stop the notification of the victory of his rival candidate. The Commission has rejected this demand of Nawaz. Let us inform you that Nawaz Sharif had contested elections from a constituency of Punjab province and lost to an independent candidate supported by former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

According to ‘ARY News’ report, a two-member bench of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, while hearing the petition, rejected the request and asked Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer to file the application again. Instructed. PTI-backed independent candidate Shahzada Gustap Khan won the NA-15 Mansehra seat with 105,249 votes, while three-time former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif came second with 80,382 votes.

Nawaz Sharif had challenged the notification

According to reports, Nawaz Sharif challenged the notification of Gustaf’s victory after his defeat in the constituency. According to a report in ‘The Express Tribune’ newspaper, the returning officer, in the report submitted to the ECP, said that the result of the constituency was compiled as per Form 45.
