Indian Embassy issued helpline

The Indian Embassy said, ‘The Embassy has set up an emergency control room for anyone to contact regarding the earthquake and tsunami that occurred on January 1, 2024. For any assistance, one can contact on these emergency numbers and email IDs. The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a tsunami warning for coastal areas of Ishikawa, Niigata and Toyama prefectures. According to NHK report, the epicenter of the earthquake was 40 centimeters away from Kashiwaki city of Niigata province. According to the report, Hokuriku Electric Power said it was investigating any irregularities at its nuclear power plants.

Strong earthquake shocks in Japan
